In 2001 Displaced Orphans International (DOI) was formed by a handful of caring friends who had a heart to help orphaned children in Thailand. Greg Wineman, one of the original founders had traveled to Thailand to meet a friend of a friend but instead found himself be-friending 52 hill tribe orphan children. This trip was the first of many and these children the first of now over 550 orphan children reached by the efforts of DOI. DOI is an independent non-profit organization that is passionate about changing the lives and futures of the orphaned children around the world.
We believe that children are at the very heart of God and that when children come to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ everything changes… with themselves and then their tribes, their communities, their country and our world. |
DOI is dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned children and showing them that they have not been forgotten, they have not been discarded, they are not unlovable or worthless. They are in fact wanted, loved, worthy and precious! When these children come to know Christ they have a joy that is contagious, smiles that shine with light and voices that sing of God’s goodness! These children, once forgotten & thrown away, are reaching into their local communities to better the lives of those who live around them.
100% of every donation is given directly to the children to provide for their care. No money goes toward administrative expenses whatsoever. |
